After you setup a Cell Phone for Text Messages in the system you will want to test the system to ensure it is going out. Follow the directions below to accomplish this task. This will help you to identify if there is an error with the Cell Phone setup or if the SMTP configuration is incorrect. NOTE: Ensure you have the control unit connected to your LAN and that you have setup the SMTP server.

1. Open the VT3000 web interface – log in with your username and password – select Communications from the main menu.

2. On the Communications page - select Outputs - click on the down arrow for the Destination Type field - select Text Message.

3. Select one of the cell phones from the list by clicking on it so that it is highlighted.

4. Enter a message to send in the Message field – click on the Send button.

5. Check the cell phone the message was sent to – if it was not received check the phone number and provider information in Outputs. Double check the SMTP server settings in System Settings – Global. If everything is correct attempt the process one additional time. If the second attempt is unsuccessful, please contact VersaCall support.
