There are 2 sections below – one for New Transmitter Installation and one for Replacement Transmitter Installation. Use the appropriate section for your installation.
There are 2 methods to installing a USB Paging Transmitter, New Transmitter or Replacement Transmitter. For a New Transmitter that has never been connected to your system, follow the instructions below. For a Replacement Transmitter, DO NOT use the instructions below - simply unplug the old transmitter and plug in the new one. 1. Download the driver from the link below and save it to the either a removable drive to take to the VC computer or save it to the desktop of the VC computer. The file is in Zip format so you will need to unzip it before installing. Keep in mind the file must be run from the VC computer directly not through the web interface.

There are 2 methods to installing a USB Paging Transmitter, New Transmitter or Replacement Transmitter. New Transmitter Installation:

1. Download the driver from the link below. Place the zip file on the VersaCall computer. Unzip the file on the VersaCall computer. NOTE: The file must be run on the VC computer directly not through the web interface.

USB Driver

2. Go to the location of the unzipped file - open the folder - select the Salcom-1262-PSD-v2109.msi file.

3. On the License Agreement window - select "I accept" for the terms - select the Install button.

4. A status screen will show the installation progress - select Next button when the installation is complete.

5. The Complete window will appear, click in the box next to Install USB Driver then click on the Finish button.

6. The driver installation window will appear, click on the Install button.

7. A status screen will appear during the installation, wait until this screen goes away.

8. The Completed window will appear once the installation is complete, click on the OK button.

9. Find an open USB port on the back of the control unit/VersaCall Computer – plug in the USB cord from the paging transmitter. Plug in the power cord for the paging transmitter.

10. Open the VT3000 web interface – log in – click on the Administration icon – click on the System Settings icon – click on the Service icon.

11. Click on the Paging Transmitters tab.

12. Click on the Plus icon.

13. The setup fields will populate on the right side of the transmitter list.

a. Enabled – click on the box to check mark the box. b. Description – enter a name for the paging transmitter. c. Driver – select Salcom 12-62 – USB. d. Synchronization Code – leave this set to None unless told to change by a VersaCall Technician. e. Connection Method – leave this set to Serial. f. Port – click on the down arrow and select the “Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge” port.

14. Click on the Save & Exit button at the top right side of the Services page to save the device.

15. On the Home page click on the Administration icon – from the administration page click on the Control Center icon.

16. Click on the Applications tab.

17. Click on the VT3000 Service application in the list so that it is highlighted.

18. On the right side of the list there will be some information and icons – click on the square (stop) icon.

19. The Status line will show the service as stopped.

20. Click on the Triangle (Start) icon.

21. The Status line will show the service as Running.

Replacing A Transmitter:

1. Unplug the USB cord from the old transmitter and plug in the new transmitter. Disconnect the power from the old transmitter and plug in the power for the new transmitter.

2. On the Home page click on the Administration icon – from the administration page click on the Control Center icon.

3. Click on the Applications tab.

4. Click on the VT3000 Service application in the list so that it is highlighted.

5. On the right side of the list there will be some information and icons – click on the square (stop) icon.

6. The Status line will show the service as stopped.

7. Click on the Triangle (Start) icon.

8. The Status line will show the service as Running.

9. Test the paging transmitter by using the How To Test Pager Coverage guide.

NOTE: If no pages are sent to the pagers after using the how to guide, check that the correct COM port is selected. Shown in step 13 of New Transmitter Installation section.
