You can attached wired light stacks to Call Stations and I/O Modules. There are default settings for the module but they can be changed and added.

Call Station Configuration – this configuration is based on a 5 color stack light with Green at the top then Red, Blue, White and Amber. Green is wired to O5, Red to O1, Blue to O2, White to O3 and Amber to O4.

1. Open the VT3000 web interface – log in – click on the Configuration icon – click on the Devices icon.

2. Click on the Call Station that you wish to configure to highlight it – click on the Edit button.

3. Click on the Discrete Outputs tab.

4. First enter a name (light color) for each output. Click on the first output in the list – it will highlight.

5. A Properties screen will show on to the right of the output list - explanation of the options below:

a. Description – enter the name of the output. For call stations this would be the color of the light in the light stack. b. Type – there are 3 options available. i. Normal – this means the light will act normally meaning when it is turned on the light will come on independent of any other output. ii. Disabled – this option will disable the output, it will no longer work. iii. Related – this option allows the light to come on when another is on or off. You will configure this using the Direct and Inverse settings at the bottom of the page. c. Inverted – click this if you want the output to be opposite of the default setting. An example of this would be the light stays on when the button is not pressed the blinks or goes off when the button is pressed. d. On Delay – enter a number of milliseconds that you want to elapse before the light comes on. e. Off Delay – enter a number of milliseconds that you want to elapse before the light goes off. f. Blink On – enter the number of milliseconds that you want the light to blink on. g. Blink Off – enter the number or milliseconds that you want the light to blink off. h. Direct – this section will only show for a Related Output Type. Click to place a check mark in the box next to the output you want to be directly related to the output. An example would be that you want another output/light to turn on when one of the other outputs turns on. i. Inverse – this section will only show for a Related Output Type. Click to place a check mark in the box next to the output you want to be inversely related to the output. An example would be that you want another output/light to turn on when the output is off (Green light is one when the others in the light stack are off the off when any other light is on).

6. For our example, we will set up a typical light stack attached to a Call Station. This means the colored light for the button/output will come on when it is pressed/activated.

a. Description – as per our 5-color stack light configuration this will be the Red Light. b. Type – leave this as normal. c. Inverted – leave this unchecked. d. Default State – leave this as Off - we want the light to be off until it is activated. e. On Delay – set to zero as we want no delay. f. Off Delay – set to zero as we want no delay. g. Blink On – set to 5 as we want it set to default. h. Blink Off – set to 5 as we want it set to default.

7. Click on the next output in the list and repeat the steps. Name each light by the color. Finished list should look like this – proceed to the next step for output 5.

8. Click on Discrete Output 5 in the list so that it is highlighted.

9. By default, this will set as a Related output. Below are the settings for the light.

a. Description – enter Green Light. b. Type – leave this as Related. c. Inverted – leave this box unchecked. d. On Delay – leave this set to zero we do not want any delay. e. Off Delay – leave this set to zero we do not want any delay. f. Direct – leave these unchecked as we want to set up an inverse relationship. g. Inverse – check each box for DO1, DO2, DO3 and DO4. This means that when any of those lights are on the green light will go off.

10. Once all lights have been configured, click on the Save & Exit button.

11. You will be returned to the Devices homepage, continue with the steps on the next page.

After the outputs, have been configured you will need to assign their actions to the buttons or alarms on the Call Station.

1. Click on the Call Station that you edited in the steps above to highlight it – click on the Edit button.

2. Click on the Monitoring Points tab.

3. Click on the first alarm/button from the Root menu so that it is highlighted.

4. The alarm properties configuration will appear on the right – click on the Actions tab.

5. A list of actions will show in the list. By default these are set up for a Tri-State alarm, below is an explanation of the settings. Each will show the name of the light that you set up for each output.

a. Set – Blink Red Light – when the button is first selected/set - output 1 will blink. b. Acknowledge – Turn on Red Light – when the button is selected a second-time (acknowledged), output 1 will turn solid. c. Clear – Turn off Red Light – when the button is pressed a third time (clear), output 1 will turn off.

6. Click on the Set option in the list to highlight it.

7. The properties field will populate to the left. An explanation of these options is below.

a. State – there are 3 options available in the drop down for a Tri-State Alarm Set, Acknowledge and Clear. There are 2 options available for a Dual State Alarm Set and Clear. b. Type – there are 3 options available. i. Modify Discrete Output – this option allows you to select outputs on the call station you are configuring. ii. Modify Discrete Output on Another Device – this option allows you to select an output on another device. c. Action – the options here are Turn On, Blink or Turn Off. d. Output – select the output/light that coordinates with the button.

8. As stated earlier, by default the Actions will be set up to each button. If you need to change any of the options, use the explanation above.

9. Click on the Save & Exit button at the top right of the screen.
