VT3000 - Add a Count to a BSC

Overview
A BSC module does not have wired inputs. For this reason, only a virtual count can be added to the device. Once you complete the steps below, a button will show on the Touch Screen or Web Interface (PC BSC Modules) at the bottom below any alarms that have been setup on the device.


Requirements

1. The VT3000 Core Software installed and running on your system.
2. A Coordinator must be setup, powered and communicating with the VT3000 Core Software.
3. Software - PC BSC plug in must be loaded in your system.
4. Hardware - BSC plugin must be loaded in your system and a BSC device must be powered & communicating with the system.

Step 1.
Open the VT3000 web interface – select VT3000 Core Software - log in – select Configuration – select Devices.

Step 2.
Select the BSC Device that you want to add the Count Button to from the list - select the Edit button.

Step 3.
Select the Monitoring Points tab.

Step 4.
Select the Add Sampler icon from the Monitoring Points toolbox.

Step 5.
Count Properties - there are 2 different ways to setup the count each is shown below:

Periodic Update As Occurs Update
NOTE: Periodic will update the count in the system from the amount of seconds entered. As Occurs will update the count in system whenever a count happens. If you have a high count/cycle rate (every 5 to 20 seconds) you would want to use the Periodic setup.
Property Definitions
Sampler Name - enter Count.
Mode - Continuous Sampler will be the only option available.
Type - select Count. Placeholder is used for custom configurations.
TRIGGER - Periodic - updates the VersaCall software of the count every X (entered in Period field) seconds.
TRIGGER - Period - enter the number of seconds to wait until the count is updated in the VersaCall software - enter 60 as this should be the minimum.
TRIGGER - Don't Send Zeros - selecting this will instruct the module to NOT send a zero if there has been not count in the Period time frame.
TRIGGER - Don't Record Zeros - this option is used for custom configurations. Contact VersaCall Support for assistance with this option.
TRIGGER - As Occurs - updates the VersaCall software of the count every time one is made on the module.




Step 6.
Select Save & Exit button.

Step 7.
The BSC module will have to be updated before the count button will appear on the screen. CLICK HERE for instructions on updating the module.
