VT3000 - Add a Shared List Data Field - BSC

Overview A BSC module can have Data Fields added to Alarms or Processes. This guide covers Shared Lists when selecting List as the Source Type. Shared Lists are setup in the Shared List section of Configuration in the VT3000 Core software. Using a Shared List allows multiple modules to use the same list. This helps in maintaining the system as you will only have to edit one list instead of an individual list on every device.

Requirements See Requirements Here 1. The VT3000 Core Software installed and running on your system. 2. Hardware: Coordinator must be setup, powered and communicating with the VT3000 Core Software. 3. Software - PC BSC plug in must be loaded in your system. 4. Hardware - BSC plugin must be loaded in your system. 5. Hardware - BSC must be powered & communicating with the system. 6. The Configuration must contain at least one Alarm or Process. 7. A Shared List must be setup in the VT3000 Core Software.

Step 1. Open the VT3000 web interface – select VT3000 Core Software - log in – select Configuration – select Devices. Configuration Devices

Step 2. Select the BSC Device that you want to add the Data Field to from the list - select the Edit button.

Step 3. Select the Monitoring Points tab.

Step 4. Select the Alarm or Process that you want to add a Data Field to. Our example will use the Supervisor Alarm.

Step 5. Select the Add Data Field icon in the Monitoring Points tool box.

Step 6. Data Field Properties - each field is explained below: Data Field Name - enter a name, this will show on the device when the field is active. Mode - Processes will have At Start & At End. Alarms will have Set, Acknowledge & Clear depending on the type of alarm. Select the appropriate setting for your configuration. Source Type – select List. Not Required – allows the operator to leave the field blank (no data). Source - select Shared List. List - select the Shared List that was created for this Data Field. Value Type - select Text - this is the only option available for a List.

Step 7. Once the Data Field(s) have been setup - select the Save & Exit button to save the changes.

Step 8. The BSC module will have to be updated before the Data Field will appear on the screen. Click Here for instructions on updating the module.
