Overview
There is a method for testing the signal strength of the Mesh Network (communication between the Call Station & Coordinator). Use this tool as a troubleshooting method when your Call Station is not communicating well/consistently. The instructions below are for Battery Powered Call Stations. For instructions on a Powered Call Station Click Here.


Requirements

1. The VT3000 Core Software installed and running on your system.
2. A Coordinator must be setup, powered and communicating with the VT3000 Core Software.
3. A Battery Powered Call Station communicating with the VT3000 Software.

Step 1.
Using the buttons on the Call Station - press and hold down the Square button and the press the # 2 button.

Step 2.
All the LED's in the top left corner of the Call Station will come on and all the LED's next to the buttons will turn solid.

Step 3.
After a few seconds the LED's in the top left corner of the Call Station will show the Green LED blinking.

Step 4.
The LED's next to the buttons will go through a pattern where one will blink for a few seconds and all the others will stay solid. They will rotate blinking and solid for 2 - 5 minutes.

Step 5.
Once the test is completed, all the LED's next to the buttons will turn off.

Step 6.
Depending on the results of the test, the LED in the top left corner of the Call Station will either show as Blinking Red or Blinking Green.

There is a Signal Strength Issue Signal Strength is Good




Step 7.
You can check the results of the test in the VT3000 software. Get the Mesh Address of the Call Station that you tested. The address can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the Call Station.

Step 8.
Open VT3000 web interface - log in - select Diagnostics - select Device Status.

Step 9.
Locate the Device with the mesh address.

Step 10.
An icon will show next to the device in the status column.

Green icon means 100 percent coverage. Red icon means less than 100 percent coverage. Device needs to be moved or repaired.
