Overview
There is a method for testing the signal strength of the Mesh Network (communication between devices & coordinator). Use this tool as a troubleshooting method when your Call Station is not communicating well/consistently. The instructions below are for Powered Call Stations. For instructions on a Battery Powered Call Station Click Here.


Requirements
See Requirements Here
1. The VT3000 Core Software installed and running on your system.
2. A Coordinator must be setup, powered and communicating with the VT3000 Core Software.
3. A Powered Call Station communicating with the VT3000 Software.

Step 1.
Get the Mesh Address of the Call Station that you want to test. The address can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the Call Station.

Step 2.
Open VT3000 web interface - log in - select Diagnostics - select Device Status.

Step 3.
Find the device that you want to test by its Mesh Address. This is the address you got in Step 1.

Step 4.
Select Options - select Commands.

Step 5.
Select the down arrow in the Command field.

Step 6.
Select "Start Coverage Test" from the list.

Step 7.
Select the Issue Command button.

Select the Return to Device Status button.

Step 9.
Locate the Device with the mesh address - select the Details link.

Select Coverage from the list.

Step 11.
The following information is shown:

Start Time - time when the coverage test was started.
Packets - number of packets/messages sent to the device.
Losses - number of packets/messages that were not successful.
Last Update - time when information was updated.
Average Interval - average time it takes to send & receive packets/messages.
Coverage - percentage of packets sent & received successful versus losses.




Step 12.
Once the test is completed (Packets shows 50) - select the Return to Device Status button.

An icon will show next to the device in the status column.

Green icon means 100 percent coverage. Red icon means less than 100 percent coverage. Device needs to be moved or repaired.
